PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A CHANGE FROM OUR NORMAL VENUE
FOR THE PRESENTATION ON FRIDAY 5th OF JANUARY 2018
Unfortunately Wigan Council have found it necessary to close Leigh Library for the first week in January for repairs to heating. This means the LOS will be unable to hold their presentation there on 5th January. The presentation will now be held at Chowbent Unitarian Chapel in Atherton as shown on the map below. The presentation will be in the hall next to the chapel.
NORMAL SERVICE AT LEIGH LIBRARY WILL BE RESUMED IN FEBRUARY 2018.

The show tonight was exceptional, I was asked to give a vote of thanks so I jumped at the task here's what I said:- I have to say we see some first-class photography at our meetings and boy o boy this show was without doubt at the very pinnacle of artistry.
Pauline and Ian are very accomplished photographers whose knowledge of wildlife and all things in nature are unsurpassed.
Put together these skills have taken us to a higher plain tonight.
Many hours go into producing a show of this variety and quality apart from the days, weeks and months out in the field,
the timing and planning that goes into arriving at a place knowing your subject will be there, in flower, emerging, migrated to Britain or about to pass through.
This comes from a lifetime of experience and therefore the knowledge gained.
You take your pictures, you get home and sort out your best, you put them in some order, name them, make notes, you put them into a show and go through it several times.
Finally arriving at the magic, we have witnessed this evening.
