Kingfisher at Pennington Flash |
From highly detailed close-up bird and animal shots, through multi-coloured fungi to breathtaking landscapes, Pauline's and Ian's photos were a simply stunning collection of wildlife images that would grace the pages of any book or magazine.
Short-eared Owl |
As well as iconic birds such as Kingfishers, Short-eared Owls, Red Kites and Capercaille, we saw animals such as Pine Martens and Badgers, lots of fungi and wild flowers and many beautiful landscapes from the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and Scotland.
At the end of the presentation Charlie Owen, another local well-respected birder and photographer and lifelong friend, did the honours of thanking Pauline and Ian and capped it all by saying that he was now going to sell his camera! You can view Pauline and Ian's photos online here: Pauline and Ian's Wildlife Images.
This truly splendid evening was enjoyed by everyone who attended and we're now all looking forward to the 2012 version next year!

Hi Martyn - May I first of all say that Pauline & Ian Greenhalgh's photographs were spectacular and they both have an exceptional "gift". Their patience and natural talent certainly shine through. I have total admiration for the quality (and quantity) of photographs shown last evening. If I had 40 years' photographic experience I wouldn't come anywhere close! I think we just need to stand back, admire and aspire (at least we can dream!) of achieving such beautiful images. Joanne (LOS Member)
I fully agree with Joanne on this, but will add, they are wonderful people too.
Fabulous show, and having been at some of the locations when the photos were taken I also know the care and attention that goes into each photo and you can tell when you see a show like that.
Joan
Yes Joan I see your point about care/ attention to detail, I've witnessed it too! it pays dividends as we saw in Pauline and Ian's show. Roll on the next.
